NOTE: If the participant is under the age of 15 years old, they will need to upgrade to the Private Open Water program so we can ensure the safety of the child in the open water environment. Thank you!

Step 1:

Pick up your material at a minimum of 2 weeks before the class. YOU MUST complete the online chapter knowledge reviews and quizzes at the end of each chapter plus Final exam and PADI dive table (RDP) section. When you arrive in store, you will have a minimum of two items to purchase. This is the e-learning component from PADI and an RDP/Logbook/Student Record File packet. The e-learning* and RDP Crewpak** is discounted and required purchase items in store when you pick up! $230.00 + $80.00

*The e-learning must be purchased through this program or registered to Beach Cities Scuba as the Shop of Record if purchased through PADI. We cannot accept third party e-learning codes for customers.

Step 2:

Attend the classroom orientation (3 hours) on the Wednesday at your selected store. You will complete a 25-question quick review on this day. PLEASE BRING A PRINTOUT OF YOUR COMPLETED E-RECORD TO CLASS. This should have completion notifications on all sections. Any 'NA' responses on your certificate of completion signifies a missed portion of your e-learning. Please re-visit that section and complete. This will relieve you of some stress on your first night of class.

Step 3:

Attend pool sessions & workshops on Saturday & Sunday  8:00 AM to 6:00 PM.

Step 4:

Spend two weekend days diving in the ocean for a total of four ocean dives. These sessions last approximately five hours. You could dive at 6 a.m. and be home chilling at noon on both days! We have beach dives, which are included with your program; or boat dives available for purchase (boat trips are not included in this program). 

Step 5:

Smile. You will have completed all the steps at this point! You'll head over to our registration section (which you are authorized to do now if you would like) and fill out the information required! 

PADI Open Water Diver Semi-Private Course

The Open Water Semi-Private Course includes tuition and scuba equipment rentals. Your online class is an additional fee. The student must furnish their own scuba quality mask, snorkel, fins, wetsuit boots, gloves, PADI training logbook and PADI RDP table (PADI training logbook and PADI RDP table is a required purchase when you pick up your material, this is the packet discounted). All of this is purchased through any of our seven Beach Cities Scuba Centers at a discounted cost! Remember that if you buy your gear with us, we give you 10% off anything you select in store!

All class schedules shown here list the initial orientation day, followed by the first weekend of pool dives. Your ocean dives can be flexibly scheduled for any two weekend days after the first weekend.

Boat dives are also available! Talk to your instructor about enjoying a beautiful, relaxing day on our boat the Riviera and avoid the full gear climbs to and from the shoreline!
